PILATES

Pilates is “Quality Movement”. It is a form of body conditioning targeting the deep postural muscles to create a strong core.

It works by re-balancing and strengthening the muscles therefore improving posture and alignment; it also improves flexibility and it is a great way to relieve unwanted stress and tension.

It is based on eight key principles:

  • Relaxation
  • Breathing
  • Concentration
  • Flawing movements
  • Alignment
  • Co-ordination
  • Centring and stamina

It can be taught on a one to one private session or in a group matwork class.

PHILIPPA JENNER-WALES

Philippa is a registered nurse, a fully qualified Pilates teacher and has been a private fitness instructor for over 20 years. Through continual training programs Philippa has over 20 qualifying certificates.
